Headlight adjustment

"adjusting to the specified range" is there a specified range or is it whatever you thinks a fair thing?
I need to do mine also as I am always copping it from other cars. Is the best way to set the Lux 2 metres from a wall with low beam and then wind them down 1 inch ?
If there is a better way I would love to know as i dont wont to compromise my vision for night driving

Cheers Alby

The comfort. They were a bit deceiving as the comfort has 6 main leaves and the performance(heavy) has 5, go figure. The ride is very good in the front and rear.

so the comfort ones has 8 leaves in total (6 + 2)
and the load carrying ones have 7 (5 + 2)
that seems funny
what brand are the leaves

interesting, just look on ironman website & got the details

Leaf Spring Comfort 2
Leaf Spring Performance 2
Leaf Spring Constant Load 2

think that the comfort ones are set with a little bit less height than the performance ones.
Anyone know what the difference is between comfort & perfromance ones.

Will be interesting to see how your handle weight (trailer/camping gear etc)

Headlight adjustment

Postby 9W6VX on Thu, 03 Jul 2008 8:33 +0000

Guys,

I adjusted them actually by using the 5:4 ratio as my height increase was easily 2 inches. It was perfect the first time.

Just mark the screwdriver and turn them 360 degrees to make 1 full turn.

If you want to play safe you can do it against the wall for smaller increments.

But just remember the 5:4 ratio so that the headlight aim is not screwed up.

Cheers

I got priced $2200 for Billstein shocks and OME Springs and the 3 inch lift. Sounds like a good deal. I like the equalisation of the car instead of the natural sag at the front.

Anth D.
I did mine as per the thread instructions, I set the lux up about 2 metres from the garage wall put some marks on the wall where my lights hit it and then wound the outside adjustment screws with I think a 10mm socket approx six turns, it is not that obvious that it is moving unless you have a reference point on the wall but it definately works. I did not touch the side adjustment as it seems fine.

I have not been flashed from other drivers for my headlights since8-)
