I am going to be getting ARB to replace the suspension on my Hilux, they will be installing OME front and back including torsion bars etc. The question I have is around the load capacity of the rear Dakar Leaf Springs.
85% of my driving is on tar road, to and from work, the remaining breakdown is 10% on camping wherein I pop around 50 litres of water + 12v camping fridge, wood, fishing gear, tents, awnings etc on the back and the remaining 5% I spend in rather remote areas of WA that sees me transporting around 150 litres of water, + 12v fridge, esky, food supplies, 50 litres of fuel, tent, gazebo, fire wood etc for around 1000+ kilometers some of which would be on corrugated dirt roads and beaches.
The OME leaf spring ratings are as follows:
Medium load
Constant 120Kg
Constant 250Kg
Constant 400kg
As the bin is empty (with the exception of the spare wheel mounted below) most of the time, would it be sensible to go for the Medium load or go for the Constant 120kg?
