Tool box configuration/security

Postby Tom83 on Wed, 06 Dec 2017 8:46 +0000

I just picked up my SR5 recently, loving it. Having said that, I am new to both dual cabs and tubs, so coming from cab chassis utes and an 80 series, obviously there are a few practicality issues I will have to overcome to get it work ready....

First up, what are people doing about toolboxes and security? Is there a smart way to utilise the factory tie downs somehow to avoid bolting through/self tapping the tub to secure toolboxes? Any other security ideas? I don't like canopies or hard covers.

Hi Tom

Some of the guys discussed this a while back and the general agreement was using a rivnut and bolting through from inside the tool box was a tidy and secure way of fixing the box in place
Also when you remove the box it is all but flush
Hope this helps :)
