First time poster, absolute novice but keen to get ideas and learn about how to fix up my hilux independently.
Looking for plenty of advice, current woes are snapped rear shocks with only town and highway driving. Looking to understand why and maybe some solutions or better rear shocks?
Current mods to the hilux are: 2in front lift, 3 inch rear lift, shocks (or at least they where), new bull bar with lighting.
I have pretty minimal tools, spanner’s, sockets and hammers really…
Please let me know if you can point me towards a rear shock thread or any other advice out there
Cheers

Use the search box to see if you can find out what you are looking for
Ho put a 3 inch lift in the back to brake the shocks I would say the shocks are the wrong length
It must be front down with only 2 inch lift

Hi Dave, It is a bit front down.
Having said that I am a relative novice of all things cars. I installed the rear springs 2nd hand from a friend of mine and got the front done in a shop after. Front was definitely 2" and rear was slightly higher. It doesn't help that I do not carry much weight often.
Wrong length shocks sounds like it could be correct, especially as it sheared at the joint.
Do you know of any recommendations on good 3" shocks for a 07 Hilux?

I would be going back to the shop that did the front and get them to do the back to match the front
If it is to much nose down you will scrub out the front tyres as the geometry will be wrong.
