Not whinging, just letting the OP know what he’s in for with extractors on a V6. Wet fart exhaust noise.
To be honest I haven’t heard a Ranger make those awful diesel duck-whistle noises on gear changes, mostly seems to be Nissans and Hiluxes.
I had an auto XLT Ranger for 3 weeks and 1000’s of kM all over NZ South Island in February. I could easily live with it around town, but out on the open road no thanks, bloody dangerous when you hit the torque cliff trying to overtake Asians in campers doing 60 in 90 zones! Towing it would be a nightmare.
Mine is too old and too many kM to convert to an LS now. It would be at least a $30k conversion to put an LS3 or LSA in it, not worth it on a 10 year old (next year), 160k car.
