Headlight high beam and spotilights

Headlight high beam and spotilights

Postby Yoda52 on Sat, 01 Aug 2020 3:03 +0000

Hi, new member here, I have an 1997 Hilux 4x4, purchased Kings 9" spotlights with harness, they work only in low beam, even after following their destructions, they still only work in low, when checking for high beam wire on the plug, I notice there is only two wires, both are red, and testing with a light probe, both are hot, which makes it hard to find out which one is high beam, the harness came with all the plugs needed and went together perfectly, still no response from 4wd SC, so went searching and found this site
One YT poster said he went into the relay and changed the two hot wire pins over and that it fixed the problem? any suggestions or is it a trip to an auto sparky, which I begrudge handing over money to for a pensioner
Cheers

Try connecting this way....

Toyota switch the negative side so you need to use both of the "hot wires" across the back of the head light

I have Kings Spotties on my Hilux and their wiring harness fitted up without any mods needed and the spotties work on High as they should.
Kings service/responding to enquiries is pretty poor. And their servicing warranty issues are even worse

Thanks Cambo, will try as you have suggested, I can't figure out why Kings are so poor at responding, so many come in and ask for help and to only see no replies, others try and help, if it was my business, I would be on it until any issues are fixed, good service means returning customers
