Exhaust

Postby AC1981 on Sat, 01 Aug 2020 5:21 +0000

Hi there
I have just fitted a Beaudesert 2.75inch exhaust on my 2015 SR5 manual dual cab and recorded an average of 10.5 litres per hundred before fitting exhaust and have not had any improvement after 3 tanks of fuel with new exhaust fitted. I am doing mostly highway driving and cannot feel any improvement with power and torque. Beaudesert claim 10-12% power and torque increases and 8-10% improved fuel efficiency, they state these improvements come without needing a computer remap.
Has anyone else put an aftermarket exhaust on there hilux and what has been the outcome?

Cheers

Could get 11.3km per litre all the time on the highway, original muffler was 10.5.
Car has 2 inch lift, stock tyres.
That's off an ultragauge, don't go off the toyota gauge they are crap.
Did u get the muffler delete pipe?

I got the full system from Beaudesert, from turbo to tail with the straight through centre muffler.

Try cleaning your Map and Maf, then disconnect your battery for 10min.
Ecu may need to relearn.

Mine has a Beaudesert 2.75” system from extractors back. Dynoed it before and after with good gains, but it had to have an XEDE Piggyback processor as the stock ECU wasn’t capable of running it properly with the increased flow.

Do you actually pull the MAP sensor off and clean that aswell or just do the filter as per the link?

Both.
Do a search with Google and add "new hilux" on the end if you need more info.
If your new to the site you have 6 weeks of reading (lots of good info)

Only one worth having, 4.0L V6. I only just realised that wasn’t what you have.

Okay I did the MAF Sensor and the MAP filter and have noticed the car is alot more responsive now.

How do you go about cleaning the actual MAP sensor itself as just has the electrical connector plug and the stem at the bottom where the hose connects too?

I have read through a fair few posts so far and yes some good info.

Thanks
