Auxillary lock actuator wiring

Auxillary lock actuator wiring

Postby torquaytrot on Sat, 04 Jul 2020 1:45 +0000

I've added 4 actuators to my rear toolboxes and want to connect them to central locking so when I open/lock the car the toolboxes do the same.
Can anyone help me with where to connect the locks to the existing wiring? I've looked up the wiring diagram but it's all Greek to me.
I have a dual cab 2019 Hilux.

Much appreciated

I would be very reluctant to connect another 4 actuators across the existing system , you don't know how much extra current the relays would be able to tolerate.

if using a separate module for the new ones , then just trigger them from the existing Beige and Grey wires in the drivers door switch

What locks and actuators did you use on the toolbox?

I could possibly use just 2x locks, one on each toolbox rather than 2 on each?
I'm using a central locking kit I picked up from Supercheap.
I installed the same setup on a workmate previously but that had no central locking to start with so I added the whole thing rather than tapping into existing.
I tried grey/beige as explained (thanks numberplate) but couldn't get it to fire...
Not sure what I'm doing wrong

It might be worth searching for "ARB Ascent canopy" wiring diagram/instructions.
This canopy has (up to) 3 actuators for the canopy windows so might give you some ideas.

Needs relays, the Toyota OEM canopies can have 3 locks and the relays are incorporated in the OEM accessory loom.

The Toyota part number for the loom (both A & J deck) is PZQ7089J04. You could buy and easily adapt that however I just made a quick call and it's around $600 and 3 weeks backorder!

The alternative option is to go here https://toyotamanuals.com.au/accessories enter PZQ7089J04 and download the installation instructions. They are quite detailed and explain where & how to tap into the vehicle loom and have the full wiring diagram but you will need to make up the relay system yourself. The included details are sufficient for an auto elec to do it for you.

Much appreciated!
