2" Lift - Adjustable UCA's needed for HD Springs?

Hello all. Here's my situation. Excuse the same old boring questions I've tried to suss it out myself from previous threads.

I have a 2014 KUN26 with a 2" IronMan lift kit, TDog springs.
Tyres are 285/70/17's which scrub a little bit even with the castors alligned as far forward as safely possible (stock UCA).

Currently the front sags, which apparently is normal as the rear levels itself out under load, however I've had a few tyreshops tell me the lift kit is subtle and the front almost sits at a stock height.

Here's what I really need advice on;
A suspension specialist has recommended, for a 25mm lift in the front, Kings HD Springs ($550 fitted) accompanied by a set of adjustable UCA's ($1100 fitted).


  • Do I need to spend the cash on the adjustable UCA's to A) Zero out the camber B) Assist with the tyre scrubbing, or are there other viable options? (NO STRUT SPACERS).
  • Could I safely get away with just doing the HD Springs and keeping the stock UCA's?
  • Do those prices seem fair?
  • Is this a dumb idea in general for off-road use or having load on the back, or a pretty reasonable adjustment to make?

I have a 3" lift in the front with Stock UCA's and extended upper ball joints. Never had an issue with getting a proper wheel alignment and never had an issue with uneven tyre wear. So absolutely you can, but i would suggest the extended upper ball joints.

Where abouts are the tyres scrubbing? Im assuming at the back of the wheel arch near the body mount? Have you done a body mount chop as this can fix the scrubbing with minimal worries.

Pricing seems pretty fair to me although ive always installed mine myself so not sure f the going rate for install.

I run a similar setup on my n70. LCA is all the way forward and running the stock UCA.

A lift isnt going to solve your scrub problems. This is because the hubs movement path during the suspension cycle isnt changed.

An adjustable UCA will bring your castor back into spec and move your hub path slightly forward but usually not enough to solve scrub issues. Your steering however will return to centre more consistently if this is a problem for you.

$550 is fine fitted. Do yoy know what the existing spring is rated to? You might be replacing your existing spring with one that has a similar weight rating.

Are extended upper ball joints something you can add to stock UCA's instead of replacing the whole arm? If so that doesn't sound too bad as they seem to be f$@#&% cheaper.

They scrub on the muddies so my choices are either cut them off completely, or cut the body mounts and re-fit them back.

Yep, Thats why i went with them. Stock UCA's and the extended ball joints. I also have 0 offset rims with a 285/75/16 and it works awesome. I havent done a body mount chop but will probably do one this weekend to be honest but i also removed the mud guard completely.
