abs causing issues

abs causing issues

Postby Domlux on Mon, 12 Jan 2015 7:20 +0000

Hi im new to this thread ive had a quick search and im not sure if anyone has came across this issue before. My abs module/pump,had a hard short in it causing the fuse to blow but for some reason it sent the short throughout the car eg alternator, power windows, central locking, all stoped working in the process. now i have replaced the abs module and fusable links in the engine bay. replaced the power window switch and replaced/checked over all fueses, which has got the power windows funtioning again and the abs is no longer shorting out.
But central locking is only opening not locking with the key touchpad or the door switch (im guessing body control module may have been affected).
Also the handbrake warining light does not turn off when hand brake is down it only goes dull.
I have bled the brakes and topped up brake fluid. Any help would be appriciated.

I have now repaired everything except the Central locking. The doors will unlock but not lock via key or switch. Do you's think this is a body control module issue?

its been a few months scince that. Now i have a different issuse, which ive had all a long. when coming to a sudden stop my abs actuates. (wheels not locked up) The abs light works and stays off, i have checked all sensors and abs rings, all wiring, abs deceleration sensor , and even another abs module. bled the brakes heaps of times, and still have the same issue.

has anyone else had the same issue? Or can give me ideas on how to solve it that would be great.
