G'day from Pucka

Postby Mick_762 on Fri, 14 Jun 2019 5:16 +0000

G'day members, lurked and trawled through as a guest and found some great info.
Recently bought a 2008 hilux dual cab - pretty stock so will be looking for ideas and pointers about suspension with a 2" lift.
Dont do much "serious" 4WDing - do a lot of hunting though.

Mick

Just trawling these intro posts and was curious about 'pucka' then saw your location in your profile...

Then got the cold chills as I heard 'i was only 19' play in my head.

Have you started a build thread on here?

No mate haven't started a build thread - the hilux will get a lift kit soon and thats about all it needs for my purposes. Its a daily driver for work and back - and I do a lot more hunting than 4WDing.

Yeah I know this may shock a fair few people on this forum..... but its just a ute.

Anything specific you want to know about Pucka?

Hahahaa ... JUST a ute ... Hahhaaaa ...

C'mon mate, there's owners on here who'd sleep with theirs is they could!

But.

I'm in similar vein as you ... mine is a family car, daily use, light beach work, no need to spend lots on extras for it to do it's job for me.

As for Pucka ...

Mum and dad and Danny saw the passing out parade at Puckapunyal
It was a long march from cadets
The sixth battalion was the next to tour and it was me who drew the card
We did Canungra and Shoalwater before we left ...

That song gives me chills ...

Yeah familiar with the song mate, the old man did 2 tours of the great South East Asian vacation.

For something more contemporary Fred Smith does a great job.
