If i was you i would NOT be accepting that . Why should you have to wait for something which can be fixed now ?? It can only get worse from here !! there is no way you can record the noise accurately on a mobile phone and identify the noise unless it is very loud . Its too hard to desseminate one noise from another.
If the chain is slapping then they are stretched and or stuffed , or there is a problem with them meshing on the sprockets , simple. The chains are not going to get better by themselves !!!
you might be on a Simpson trip when they let go , then are they going to pay for the recovery costs ?
