Leafs went in easy and got pretty good flex before the shocks maxed out. The ride is amazing just like being back on coils but I've got no weight in the back at the moment so I'll be ordering some 300 constants now that I know it can work. Once there in I'll work out what I'm going to do about these shocks.

What are the dimensions of the shackles you used? And what shocks do you plan on getting? With the standard RG leaves what is the load carrying like? Still strong? (I occasionally need to carry 1T in the back of my rig).

Cheers.

The shackles are 210mm long and the springs will be flat out holding up the esky and the dog. They might suit a mall crawler with a tub and no extra weight imo. Next step for me is to work out if i'm going to go 0-300kg leafs or 300kg constants as I do load it up every now and then. Once I get that sorted then ill measure up for the shocks and go from there.

Looking forward to seeing it.

I'm keeping a really keen eye on your build. Should be good reference in the future.

It's looking promising!!
how much difference in ride hide between your 2 inch and the RG's?
and have you disconnected one end of the shocks to see how much more droop is left and if that brake line will be long enough?

I lost roughly 20mm from the change over but I only have a 1/4 tank of diesel in the long range tank, no water in the watertank plus I don't have my canopy/rooftop on so I defiantly need stronger leafs but atm with just the tray there amazing.

I didn't have enough time on Sunday to do much more then slap them in and take some pics.

I knew pretty quickly that they where not going to be enough for the above standard load let alone a trailer with 3 bikes and a weekends worth of camping gear.

No point taking measurements until it's loaded up and has the right leaf weight in there.

On a side note I'm fairly happy with the front.

Cool as, I was just wondering if it was worth getting some 2 inch lifted ones.
But sounds like I’ll just get some stock ones and add load leafs accordingly.
Are you going to get another complete set or just ad some extra leafs to those ones?

Front is tucking nicely!!

Yet to talk to the locals but thinking 0 to 300kg or 300kg constants EFS leafs which are meant to raise a standard Colorado by 40mm which should bring the hilux back to where I want it, but this is where I'm stuck and need to talk to people more in the know, I don't want to go to hard and be back to kidney jolters or go to soft and cant carry a load.... :?: :?: :?:

Hey mate, how'd ya go? Did you sort out the load capacity for the RG springs? Did you end up.with going EFS?

Cheers,

Was given some fairly new Rg Colorado rear leafs. I've ordered shackles. Hopefully have them in on the weekend. Will let you guys know how it goes as soon as I do.

Hey mate, I’m thinking of getting some of the RG Colorado leafs for my lux eventually. Are these just stock leafs off a Colorado or upgraded ?

Does that front coil actually close right up, or does it just look that way in the picture?

Would make for a pretty harsh bump stop if it does.

Mine did and felt it throughout my last trip to the Simpson. I've since loosened the spring preload so now the spring only kisses on full compression. But for this and lots of other issues with these shocks, I wont be buying that brand again.
I might be wrong.
