The vehicle had always been serviced by the Ford dealer though, so that probably helped.
But it ain't gonna hurt to send a nice email to the stealership and ask the question...

Looking for some suggestions or a pre warning of what I'm in for.
Guess the problems started a couple of days ago (background SR5 D, 170k auto 2011) just after take off seemed to have trouble changing gears for a brief moment then sorted it self and was right. Yesterday afternoon started it put into drive and would not deliver power put into park then back into drive and was fine ( it's just about due for a service so figured I'd mention it then) . About 20 minutes later (say 15km or so) got slowed down with a accident on the express way and was going stop start and seem to have trouble finding a gear. Once i past the accident got going again was up to about 90kmph but would not shift gear was running about 4000rpm so pulled up to a breakdown lane as i did this i noticed smoke. On getting out of the car i could seem the oil and the under body was a mess (guess the smoke was from oil on the exhaust). Had no warning lights or codes, was hard to tell where it was coming from but was transmission oil (looked a fair bit off colour) checked the level via the dip stick and it still had some but was low. Anyway got it towed to the mechanics and now waiting for news..... checked where i park at home and no signs of a leak and same at work.
Looking for any past experience of this or ideas.
Many thanks
