Well 5,000km's later and its back, its a sharper harsher clunk this time and very noticeable in stop start traffic, I can even get it to do it by throttling on and off with the throttle. I took it back and they had a look and said that's there's not much else they can do now as its had the new shaft and the auto update. They said they don't know why Toyota went back to the old shaft/spline design as this design had the issue's in the past.
not sure where to go now................Ranger ? V6 Amarok...

I hope these tail shaft, auto trans, fuel gauge and software issues have all been dealt with by the company. Will be pissed off if I get one or more of these issues.
