Yesterday the UHF went in. It was done by my local place, 'The Electric Bug'. Happy to recommend them if you're in Adelaide. The setup is:

- ICOM IC-450N
- ClicOn mount and holder
- RFI CD63 6dB antenna
- 1/4 wave monopole antenna

A few developments over the weekend. First and second was a trip to ARB on Saturday for the compressor and recovery point installation.

I grabbed a Carling style driving lights switch that they chucked in at the time.

On Sunday I finally got around to fitting the FJ Cruiser rims. Big improvement aesthetically I think. The 265/70r17 tyres don't seem to be rubbing but I'll take if for a wheel alignment this week.

Went to ARB yesterday for the fitting of the side steps and rear tow step bar. It didn't go all that smoothly but to their credit, they were up front and are sorting things out.

Problem 1 was that when I dropped the car off, they discovered that a part for the steps hadn't arrived. I left it there for them to do the rear bar.

Problem 2 was that their painter had done a shoddy job on the rear bar. It looks okay from a distance but it isn't up to scratch. They've ordered a new bar and will install it when the side steps are ready. For now, we've just left the rear bar on so at least I have a towbar now.

Finally had the repainted rear bar and the side steps installed yesterday. I reckon the steps are a big improvement on the standard items.

Hey mate, i love the FJ rims. Looks great. How's the offset compared to the SR5 rims? I see you're still running 265s but do they give you a wider track than the standard rims and fill out the guards a bit better?

Hey Dan. The offset is +15 I believe, compared to +30 SR5 rims.

I'm running the 265/70 tyres that the FJ rims came with, which are the standard Dunlop Grandtrek AT22.

The Rhino Pioneer platform went on today. Also got the MaxTrax flat bracket and a cam buckle pickup kit, both of which I'll install later.

- 42100B platform - 1528mm x 1236mm
- RLT500 track leg kit
- RTS03 track

Looks good, Marsh! Any undue wind noise? I see it doesn't seem to interfere with the bee sting aerial.

I enjoy your build posts as my 'lux is the same year/same colour as yours so it's like a preview for me. I've subsequently picked myself up a set of FJ rims (came with 265/65 Scorpions). Very happy with the look and offset. Thanks man!

I noticed a tiny bit of wind noise when I picked it up but haven't noticed anything severe. I think it'll be okay due to the low profile.

Glad you enjoy the thread mate. I'll keep posting as I slowly build her up [emoji106]

A bit of electrical work was completed this week - I'm really pleased with the outcome.

- Dual battery system (Supercharge Allrounder MRV70, ARB battery tray)
- Redarc BCDC1225D charger
- Anderson solar input
- Anderson and accessory sockets in the tub
- LED lighting under hard lid
- Dual battery monitor
- Fridge tie downs
