4000s have the standard 100w halogen globes fitted. The fuse that's blowing is the new spotlight wiring harness 20A fuse, which I thought should have been enough but it cooks 25A fuses just as quick.
The reason I went with the genuine wiring harness was for a simple, plug and play, neat, hassle free install. 30min they said???
Does the fuse blow as soon as you put it in or only when you switch on your spotties? If it blows when the Spotties are turned on try this
disconnect spotlights, with the power off test the resistance of your 12v wire from the relay to your lights to earth. It should be greater than 1 M ohm
If it's not you have a short in that cable to the chassis or a crossed wire in the loom trace it through and find it.
If it's fine, with the power still off test from pin 30 on your relay to earth again it should be >1Mohm ( if it's this wire it will blow as soon as the fuse is in)
I'm pretty sure it'll be in the output from your relay to your spotties from your description, if the test above are all fine continuity test from your spotties positive to pin 87 on the relay to check that it's the right cable.
Good luck
