From memory the breather for the gearbox and transfer is on a top bell housing bolt. Top left I think?

All terrain 4x4 recovery points arrived today.
By the looks of it I'm not going to need to modify my support bracket.

My hand slipped when taking the photo and moved the recovery point out of alignment, but you can see how it fits on the Axis bar.

Now for paint.

Was originally thinking of painting them a blue (to match the coils) or a dark purple, but they're just gonna chip away anyway, so thinking just black is the best option. Keeps it tidy too.

Jay

Yeah I figured though, happy to keep touching them up though, hate the idea of a massive bare metal chunk hanging at the front of the car.

Painted them up in black killrust paint. Let them dry over the weekend. Stacked up the tyres and made a little rig to hang them from while they dried. (Was going to rain so clothes line was a no go). Worked a treat.
Image

Got it all installed, was a bit of a pain in the ass getting behind the bar without taking it off, but managed.
The recovery points lined up perfectly!
Image

The only thing now, I need to cut a chunk off the bar's bottom blate out... they're too close to the eyelets of the recovery point, so I can't actually get the shackles on! Defeats the purpose a little.
Will prob cut about 5-10mm out of it, just enough to allow the shacked to fit.

Jay

Cheers Terez!

Thanks Manny.
Was he going to give you a call when he had brackets sussed?
Is it costing a bit in steel? I'd love to make my own but don't have the correct tools to do it.
Cheers,
Jay

Price for steel is around 200 depending what size and shape with quite a few left overs, will get roughly half a rear bar out of it. I did send him some measurements but he didn't replied so far. As soon as I did my brackets I can sent you the exact measurements. I'm just lucky all my brothers in law are panel beaters and mechanics so I have more or less the hole setup otherwise I would just properly go and buy some.

Hey there Jaybags ! can you tell me if i run the standard head unit in a 2010 KUN26R and have put 40w 3 way 6.5 inch speakers in the four doors what amp or line out converter would be best to give a bit better quality sound ? dont want boom boom just a little bit more than what it is producing at the moment.

Cheers

I'm not much of an audio expert on any case, but I after learning that the stock head-units don't have RCA inputs, one of the members recommended these to me:
http://www.ebay.com.au/bhp/line-output-converter

You'd be able to get an amp and connect it through that.
I've got an active sub in mine but it's wired directly into the speakers.. so I've still got shitty sound.

That, or upgrade the head unit, most have said there's a massive improvement in sound over the stock unit.
Cheers,
Jay

Slight update. Got the grinder to the bullbar and cut two slight sections out so I can fit the shackles to the recovery points, and touched it up with killrust paint. Can't actually notice it until you go right up close which is good too.

Also got my MR bashplate. Still need the rest of the set, but happy to have a bit more protection for now.

Samous, I take it they didn't have in stock? How long ago did you order it?
It'll be worth the wait, it looks better in person. ;)
