Luke's lux

Postby TOYZX on Mon, 28 Apr 2014 10:22 +0000

G'day all! Been on the site a while now but am finally getting around to posting a few pics of my lux and build for yas to scrutinize! Here goes
She is an 07 SR5 3.0ltr td. Was bone stock when I got her 12 months ago with nearly 200k on the clock. Didnt want an new one cos I'd only scratch it up.
Im very hands on and make everything myself. First thing I did was join the forum and learn how to get rid of all the annoying alarms but since then it had:
-Snorkel
-UHF
-2" body lift (thanks to VHN for their kit!)
-set of 5 32" maxxas bighorns on 16x8 0 offset sunnies
-custom 2 1/2" exhaust from the turbo, no cat just straight to a straight thru box dumped over the diff
-removed the rear step, cut and lifted the tow bar
-custom made rock sliders
- boost guage
-custom nudgr bar to hold a set of 225 spotties
-custom alloy box spacer with thermo fan on intercooler
-second thermo fan in the front for the air con
-air horns
-custom tool boxs in the tub
-custom swing open tailgate with spare wheel carrier
-satin black rollbar
-prado springs in the front(made bugger all difference)

Yeah all my own handy work. Would rather do it rite myself than pay someone to fekk it up! Helps when you have a good mate who owns an exhaust shop! So I have plenty of pipe benders at my disposal.

Bit of a shit day on the build yesterday, did the rear seat, headlight auto off and 2wd low mods. Then got under and changed my gearbox and transfer case oils only to find engine oil leaking from the bell housing! Im assuming its the rear main seal. Only did the clutch not that long ago too, now its all gotta come out again. Oh what a feeling!

Looks hacked up, loses structural integrity making it harder to close the tailgate. Up to you, going extreme offroading that you'll need the extra departure angle?...

Ya never know when ya need that extra bit of clearance. I dont mind the look especially with a nice tube rear bar tucked underneath. Not too concerned about the tailgate as I have a swinging one and is reinforced from the inside.
