ln106 tailshaft 1 piece

Postby john253a on Fri, 28 Mar 2014 2:25 +0000

is there a off shelf model that fits to make it a 1 piece, or are they all custom made

running 3" efs lift + 2 " extend shackles
averaging 10k out of a full set of uni and 7k on centre bearing
farting is alot like jxxxxxg off. both provide instant gratification, but neither is a long term solution to the actual problem......................

Go to a engineering place/ tail shaft specialist and get one made up. It will be Cheaper than you think.

I did but it started at $400 and went up from there
Depending on uni options

Where as an off the shelf surf or 4runner start at $280

I did look into this option for my old Ln106 as well, but didn't end up doing it as I sold it. Start with the installing caster wedges to correct the pinion angle because even with a 1 piece you will still chop unis.

I've got 3deg fitted that cam with the kit
Don't know if there the right ones but that's what came with the shackles

Recently wrecked the rear half of the rear tail shaft on my LN106. Centre bearing is due to be changed too. So just wondering if an LN167 single piece rear shaft would work as a straight swap? Would save doing the centre bearing and any balancing issues. I know it’s an old thread but hopefully someone’s still hanging around! Cheers!

Different model to my hilux, but I had a Patrol years ago and the centre bearing housing also contained the hand brake stuff, so be careful you're not doing more harm than good?

Thanks for that Rob, doesn’t look like the centre bearing has anything to do with the hand brake or anything else, so will just come down to whether the single piece shaft will be a straight bolt up job or not..
