Title edited for clarity.

My old 5L used to get around 520-550kms basically all open road. Around town it would get as low as 380-400kms. It was never great on fuel. That's with heavy tray, canopy, bull bar and 31" muddies. Good realiable ute though 8-)

In all honesty man what load has it got (mods) and how do you drive it? You could probably get anywhere from 250 to 600 on a tank purely on how hard you push it. Fuel economy is such a big variable. If it doesn't smoke a lot or cover the tailgate in soot it's not too bad.

If you have a 150 litre tank, then I would suggest you have a problem. If you have a 50 litre tank then you are probably doing about right. My old 1998 Rodeo had a little tank and it woudn't get very far. Now I have a big tank and can't afford to fill it

I have a '99 LN167r, 5L 3.0L engine, 2" lift, 33" muddies on 15"steel rims, steel winch bar (no winch, triple loop), alast time I paid attention to my mileage per tank it was roughly about 400km per 3/4 of a tank. Only running ths stock 77L tank.

I drive it hard, i have a heavy right boot. I don't change gears until about 3000rpm.

This is all around town driving (Western Sydney), haven't gone on a decent enough trip to work out the difference.

I would get 10 to 12l/100km with my work 5L Hiluxs. I had to log fuel consumption, so I remember that well.

The vehicles were all new at the time and completely stock with sometimes a canopy and always those wonderful cheese-cutter tyres on split rims.
I might be wrong.

My old turboed 5L used to get 12.5l/100km loaded up on the highway or empty around town, didnt make a difference.
