Well now I Know the meaning of "wyworrie". Got my Fumoto valve and out to do service. Armed with mattz's suggestion of using a coke bottle cut in half longwise, I'm thinking this is going to be easy!
Wrong
yes you've got to laugh. A bit of back ground. I have worked around cars all my life, and quite a bit of motor sport, always done my own servicing. Back to the Lux. Crawl under with large tub, socket and cut down coke bottle (funnel). test funnel for fit, adjust, all good. Line it all up and crack sump plug, check alignment of funnel and tub and wind sump plug out!!! Now the fun begins, dropped the plug, the funnel moved and the first liter of hot oil went down my arm, so in the scramble I knocked the tub out the way and dropped god knows how much black oil on the NEW concrete drive. I get quite annoyed with a single spot of oil on the drive. This spot is about a F&*$^@g meter in dia.
Both arms black and splashes on face and glasses. Wash arms, change filter (never spilled a drop). Fitted Fumoto and filled with clean oil. Took about a half hour for the job AND three and a half hrs of degreesing and scrubbing the driveway. Followed up with a bottle of red to soothe the nerves. Perhaps I'll start with the red next time and see how it goes!!!!!!!!!
