Sorry Jake, totally slipped my mind, had to much on recently. You probably don't need them now but here they are.
Gas struts are 550 open and 300 closed, 300N, this is way more then needed to hold them up, 100-120N will hold them up but I like them strong enough that they open up on there own as soon as you flick the latch. Top to base of the canopy is 730 with another 170 from the canopy roof to the top of the headboard. Tray sits 230 off the chassis measuring inline with the rear axles. Tray wouldn't want to be any lower with 33's as they tyres almost touch under the tray as it is. Might even now with new tyres, haven't checked.

Not much other news, got new tyres, really wanted 17's for the prado brake upgrade but tyres I wanted have a 3 month wait plus I'm being tight, saving for a new toy going 17's would have ment atleast 5 new rims, higher price for tyres, then I wouldn't be able to help myself and do the brakes. But ended buying 16's in the same size as I already have, bfg km2's 305/70/16. Using a couple of my old ones for spares. The new ones although stating the same size are a bit skinnier, don't look near as mean previous tyres were km1's.

Also copped a heap of pin stripping and a few dings recently, ripped the drivers side flare off, stabbed a couple of tyres in the side wall, lucky the tyres were bald and needed replacing. Mostly happened on a trip up the high country a couple of months ago, some pretty epic tracks. Within 15 mins of being off the bitumen one new hilux with approx 5,000kms on the clock got drowned, end up being a stat right off, lost another 2.8 lux off the trip due to front diff problems, both my lux and a patrol have suffering clutches since. Plenty of day and night driving which sucked with extremely heavy fog, couldn't see squat. One particular track required approximately 4 hours winching in the rain, fog and finished up at 1 am, pushed onto camp and set up, 3 am finish. Turning around to avoid the winching wasn't an option. All said and done it was an awesome trip, bring on more of it maybe without the drowning lux

Ha Ha, yeah a little late but thanks anyway Mitch.. I ended up getting 505mm length and 350 nm strength,. like you said way to strong. I wonder if there's a way to de-gas them to weaken them abit?

Place where I get my gas struts let me swap and change as much as I want for the ones I want, you could always try the same.

Barely any photo's at all, and none of any quality but here is a couple.

Drowned lux on its way back out of the drink. Happened at running creek not to far from Mansfield. Myself and a patrol had already been through without a drama but this one went a little ofcourse and it didnt end well.



Plenty of winching went on for the week.

I am throwing up between 16"/17" tyres myself, still not convinced either way.
But my wallet will probably send me down the 16" path me thinks!

Yeh Mitch 17inch change over hurts the wallet.........I just changed over from 16's.
