This noise only happens once every couple of days, ususally morning only from the rhf wheel backing out of the driveway.
It has the metallic scraping/grinding sound of a very bad uni joint.
It is a rotational noise and happens faster than wheel speed, possibly tailshaft speed.
The tailshaft has no play and is well greased.
It is only noticable when steering either direction.
It goes away quickly, i cant hear it at the round about 200m from my house.
It does it backward and forward.
It can be felt throug the steering.
It does not sound like a normal cv noise but anythings possible.
Now, i'm a mechanic with 15 years experiance and if someone came to me describing something like this i'd be left scratching my head, considering tying myself to the bull bar so i can listen with my stethescope while the lux is rolled backward and forward.
Any ideas?
Cheers Tombo
