Bonnet Recall Issue

Postby Macca on Wed, 23 Apr 2008 4:03 +0000

Shane, I get an annoying rattle in the back seat area as well, penny dropped a month ago that it only happens when we have a passenger. Quite a solid thump, have pulled the seat out myself as I thought it was in the "C" pillar. Thanks for that, I'll have a chat to them about it now.

Hey Macca, I also have a rattle in the rear seat when I have a passenger. Let us know if you find anything.

Cheers.

My rear seat squeaks when there is someone sitting on it. The noise only comes when I am at a corner.

But lately it seems to have disappeared by itself. Did not touch it at all.

Cheers

Bonnet Recall Issue

Sorry to bring this to the top also, i knew i read about this in Here.
Mine is going in for service and will get the recall done at the same time. Did not have spare time to do it before now. I live on the Gold Coast and have a choice of Three Toyota dealers to take it.

My question to anyone here is ....do any of you live in South east queensland and which dealer did you get it done from. I remember reading in here somewhere of a bad time at Hinterland Toyota at Burleigh. Any help would be great thanks.

Cheers Tony

I got mine done at Surf toyota in south tweed. They dented my bonnet and paid for it to be repainted. Therefor I recommend you take it there. Either they get it right now or at least they fix it if they stuff it. Mine had stone chips so is better than before.

the dealer down here scratched the shit out of the top of my gaurd when they did mine but rather than getting them to respray it and risk them f#cking up the color matching i've decided to live with it. less greif for me at the end of the day, i just won't go back there.

Hey Cam
have you had issues ?
I mark my filters and such and then check after i get home. Mate of mine took Toyota to court years ago over this issue and won a substantial claim plus the embarrassment suffered in small town

Mine was just done - bonnet very heavy - seal was removed from bonnet and is now on the top of the grill (as the update model has). Had the new wiring for the genuine alloy bar done too. PS new clutch too - 30,000km.

I just had mine done at Maitland Toyota and have to say they done an excellent job. No marks anywhere and no metal shavings any where. They have a panel beater guy that comes in and does them and he only does 2 a day. I waited 6 weeks to get a spot for mine to be done

Drew,

got mine done today and thanks. They did what they were ment to , no scrscthes on bonnet new cloth under also and no iron fileings left after wards. So Hinterland got my vote for this work.
