Turbo timer for 2004 1tkze

Turbo timer for 2004 1tkze

Postby csale on Sun, 26 Jun 2011 9:50 +0000

Hello all,
I'm considering a tubo timer for my hilux and have found the following which looks nice, but i'd like some thoughts on it. Its an Apexi brand timer which should work with any vehicle:

Also...
Some of my searches did mention plug and play installation : http://www.newpro-tech.com.au/gallery2.htm
I'm wondering if this connector found near my handbrake lever is for a turbo timer or something else?

should try blitz dual timer, it sences the boost and adjusts the count down time while you drive. thats what i have. also has a digital boost gauge

Csale, i looked at that particular one when i got a timer for my 2004 SR5 and heard they have problems with not turning the car off after the timer runs down. I went with a Bogaard (the arb ones are re-branded Bogaards) and did the install myself - the wiring loom you need is under the cover for the steering column - three screws and its easily accessible.

I went ahead and got the apexi, but haven't been able to find an accurate ecu pin out diagram for my hilux (kzn 165r).
All diagrams I've found reference a 2 row pinout ecu, while mine is 3 rows.
Anyone able to help me identify the ecu ground and O2 sensor (if there is one?)

installed, works great. Only thing missing is the o2 connection for a sensible automatic countdown setting based on driving.

Mate I believe this plug is for the rear window demister. I recently moved mine to the right hand side of the steering column so I could mount my phone and Ipod holders along this part of the dash. I cut the 5 wires, joined longer ones and shifted the plug. Luckily the switch fitted perfectly into the switch blanks on this side. This looks exactly the same and is in the same spot.

Do you not have a rear window demister?

I have just tried to put in Alexi tt and the car still turns off when I take the key out with 1 minutes set on the tt it doesn't count down or anything.

I have 12v feed all the time and acc and ACC/on wired to it with 12v hooked to the park brake wire instead of doing it up to the park brake itself and earthed

How do I make it work?
