Hey Diego, nah I didn't get the rear diff done because at the moment the lsd is working a treat. When it does start to go though I was thinking the tightened lsd, or the lokka, haven't decided which yet. The lokka is only a couple hundred more and would provide more positive traction than the tightened lsd I believe.

Just a note on what my Locka is like in the front of my Maverick..... It locks in and locks out when the front wheels are straight only, not such an issue at slow speed, makes the sterring really heavy and have often been slow to unlock.mmaaxx, ask if they are out for the Hilux and if they are ask for a phone number of someone who's installed one. I would not put one into my Lux.... cheap locker for a cheap truck is not such an issue. I have driven both the Locka and the Detroit locker and I know which I would rather.

can anyone with a 4wd sytem lokka in the rear give feedback on how it performs?

spoke with 4wd sytems and they have a rear lokka for the hilux which can be adapted to the lsd diff centre supply price is $550+$20 postage has anyone got one of these installed?

I'm about to get one of these for rear of my old lux, will let you know how it goes once it is in

Honest feedback is that they are perfect for the price.. I have one in the rear and dont have any issues with it, As long as you drive knowing you have an auto locker there its fine.

I've read the thread twice and still having trouble understanding.

I am looking / thinking about a LOKKA auto locker in the front of my SR5 ADD controlled front diffs.

Mates have said to me I need to find out if the ADD disengages both axles, or only one ... because if it's the latter, then installing the LOKKA will result in one side of the diff (ie one axle) constantly spinning.

Reading on here though I've seen some suggest (i think) that basically having ADD at ALL means incompatible with a Lokka, or is it the other way around?

I have a question concerning the auto Lokka for the rear, though i realise i might have to ring them to confirm.

Will it be possible to install an auto lokka in he rear of an 07, and then be able to change the gearing later on to accomodate larger wheels, or would i be spending money twice in this regard?

These auto lockers do not replace the whole carrier, they replace the LSD mechanism within the factory carrier. And regardless, you will still be able to regear down the track.

For the rear its one size fits all unlike the front that has variations due to gear/carrier offsets.

Maybe you guys could PM Monaz he has one in the rear and is pretty clued up on this sort of stuff.They sound good though for the rear.

ill have mine fitted (rear) in a couple weeks so will update with e-locker upfront

I've got one of these lokkas in my torana. It works awesome. My only complaint is
The clicking when it's unlocked going around corners. The unit is about 4 yrs old now so maybe they have improved that part?? Anyone got anymore input? Not sure id put one in my daily if it's noisey

I've had one in the back of my Lux for years now...I've put close to 100,000ks on the clock since and it had NEVER missed a beat. It is still by far the BEST mod I have done to my truck....if you are considering whether its worth the price? Trust me it transforms your truck off road. Wombat holes.....no problems! You wont be able to stop smiling once your humble independent Hilux starts following the coiled rigs along the same tracks.

I asked at the start of October regarding the front one, at that time it was still unavailable, they did say later this year, but wouldn't give an exact date.

I had one of these in the front of my old 4Runner, years ago, with an air-locker in the rear, it was a good setup if the budget doesn't stretch to two selectable lockers.
I'd be happy to do the same in the Lux (but with e-locker in the rear), considering I'm more touring focused now (and with a tighter budget).
Once you're used to the requirement of forward movement in 4wd to turn the front wheels, it actually makes for a very capable setup.
