Excellent, my VIN is covered by the ranges there. Still can't do much though till the dealers get instructions and parts!

I phoned a Toyota dealer today to enquire about any recalls on my 2008 Hilux

They told me "there are no recalls for your vehicle" but i KNOW there are at least three recalls.

They are spiral cable , center bearing and clock spring replacement , after i told the dealer that i knew about the recalls he became angry and said they would notify me when they are ready to do any work on it.

Have they committed a criminal offense under australian law by obstructing access and lying to vehicle owners ?

i am curious if they have broken any corporate or criminal law ?

make sure your owner details are up to date fellas as the recall was formally announced yesterday. of course mine isn't one of the affected ones. just because its in the date doesn't always mean its effected

My cruise control switch is a bit dicky, I'm hoping when they replace the clock spring it will fix the issue.

The Toyota dealer contacted the person that is the owner of the vehicle on thier system... meaning if you haven't changed the details at the dealer you will need to go in and check

Just go in and ask :)

Mine is booked in for the 8th of September

I told my local dealer 3 months ago I have no horn and my air bag light is on, they told me mine is one of the ones to be replaced but I need to wait for a letter before they will do anything, 3 months on I'm still waiting and they are still telling me I need to wait for this letter, does this sound right? And can I be defected for having no horn and air bag light on if picked up by the cops while waiting for the recall?

We don't even take the letter it is all done via a Vin search.
Which should be done every visit to the dealership.

Yep, got mine done now. Went to a different dealership and they booked it in within a couple of days and once dropped off was all fixed in a couple hours. No air bag light and my horn works again :D
