Might grow on me...

Quoted $660 fitted for safari... I sorta like the longer arm along front quarter panel. Dunno, few more pics of em fitted up and I might change my mind :D

Really not a fan of the shorter arm on the guard, nor the "hot rod bonnet scoop" appearance of the head.

Granted that's only cosmetic, but as you'd need to change your guards over I figure this will only really suit people who haven't yet installed a snorkel.

Also isn't a better ram effect sometimes worse in Hilux's? I'm sure I've read some people have needed to turn the heads around to reduce air being forced through the intake and causing overfuelling.

Two things that worry my in this picture.
1: how is that pre cleaner head supposed to fit? The body of the snorkel with the ram head looks completely different to the body of the pre cleaner head.
2: how does rain water drain from the ram head? Safari snorkels (and every other brand) use slots in the snore head to help stop rain water entering the air box.

Two different snorkels
part are not interchangeable

That is why there are 2 different part numbers. and prices

Sorry forgot to answer the water question.
If you look just under where the mounting bracket is near the windscreen of the pic you blew up.
there is the water drain holes there. inside the head is the water disperser system.
Very well thought of

Thanks BH.
Good to see an alternative design... extra competition should work in favour for the consumer

From what I have heard I don't think it's cheaper than Safari according to ARB quote! Also prices seem to vary between Toyota dealers. Looks like a good snorkel however. However it is not "genuine"!! Denso do make genuine parts for Toyota but according to Toyota in Brisbane this is an "aftermarket part" !! I don't have a snorkel yet but from what I've seen this looks very good. This is my first post and can I just say what a great site NH is!!

You are correct.
I have fitted 4 now including one to my hilux. Very good system. I know it is after market but because denso and toyota are so close the cross pipe and seals fit perfectly. Just like the original parts. No need for hose clamps or form in place glues. The use if riv nuts and the supply of gen clips to replace the disturbed ones is top quality. And toyota is backing the fitment of this system. That is always a plus.
