I just installed mine.
Fits really nice, and was quite easy to do.
I only cut a 105mm hole, as that's the only hole saw I could borrow.. I was going to open the hole up more, bit it fitted at that size, albeit a bit tight.
The hardest part I found was the fitting the connecting pipe from snorkel to air box, took quite a bit of fiddling, but got it eventually.
I just painted all cut edges instead of using the grease, and put some sealant on the nutserts before compressing to ensure they don't leak.
All in all, very nice piece of gear, and a good kit from Denso. So glad I did it myself.

Should I reset the ECU?
I just went for a 30km round trip, to start off fuel usage figures were all over the place ( figures taken from ScanGauge 2)
On my way home, it seemed to be fairly normalish.

I was wondering the same thing James, surely someone knows if we should reset the ECU or not?

To do a self install I'm assuming you have to remove the plastic guard in the wheel cavity above the tyre?
Does the kit come with replacement plastic clips for this?
Reason being, I tried to take the passenger side one off once and they didn't seem removable without destroying them.

I'm finally ready to grab one of these, I was hoping to get a dealer install done (because I've got bugger all in the way of tools), but apparently because the snorkel is only listed for the d4d, they say they can't fit it, and I am purchasing it at my own risk.

I can get the one from Bathurst Toyota, they do free delivery but they're only a short drive away, so I can pick one up and not have to worry about damage in transit. Which means i've gotta go tool shopping, unless I can find a local mechanic keen to fit one to a V6.

I don't doubt it, I just can't convince the dealers that they do.

I used to fit snorkels (among many other things) for a living back when Lithgow had a 4wd shop, so it's only my pathetic excuse for a toolkit that's holding me back from doing it myself.

Hey Scratchblades,
Did you get one fitted at Syd City Toyota (Glebe or Waterloo)??? I am just wanting to find out if they do a good job.
My dealer wants to send my Hilux to ARB to get a Safari snorkel fitted.

Kind regards, Mark.

I fitted my first (Safari) myself and had the hole cut by a helpful panel beater.

The hole is the bit that frightens most people, so maybe that approach would work for you.

111mm is recommended, I only had a 105mm and it was just big enough.

Can you fit a cyclone filter to these snorkels?
That's what you have to ask yourselves.
Just saying, that's all.
