Id recommend you go and join a nissan forum such as the patrol owners and ask what their opinions are. They love Nissans but even they are not proud of the Navara as a 4x4, the only fans of them are owners that haven't had to do major work to them yet. I am a member of the navara asia forum and a lot of guys there have sold them and gone back to a D22 or up to Patrols. The D22 for some reason are a better built truck, do some research. You could spend 18k on doing a SAS with rear coil conversion but you still have the same under powered, unreliable motor. At the end of the day its none of my business what you buy but Ive seen young blokes I know rush into things only to regret not looking into them properly in the first place.
Actually there is a member on here "woks" hes a Nissan man and has been for a long time. Hes also involved in the parts industry do a search and ask him about them for some honest feedback.
Just did a quick search on this forum under Navara as I remebered some photos in there which Ill post here but there is a number of other threads there that my assist you in making your decisionHilux Max wrote:Jack S wrote:In what aspect Max?
Are you meaning with the tyres or protection? As we will be installing a brown davis bash plate tomorrow....
I'd almost say that these Navaras front diffs are too brittle to use offroad in low range.
What I have found out so far -
1) The front alluminium diff housing flex's alot and is weak
2) The front diff center itself is too small and weak
3) The front diff carrier is weak, so much so that ARB doesnt make a locker for it
4) The front carrier can flex offroad and crack the diff housing.
Heres an example -

Thought I'd kick start a thread to document other features that might be included.
