Well, I've got to get back to work. When I stop rowing, the slave ship just goes in circles.

Just my two cents worth
1.) this forum has provided me with some valuable tips and helped me position myself in an excellent bargaining position to purchase a new Hilux, so thanks to you all.
2.) Toyota aren't going to release new model until 2015-2016 they invested $$ on refitting the factory for new update shape. Dealer informed me today "why do we need to change hilux any sooner? It's the best selling vehicle." Did mention towing increase, bigger diesel motor etc, wasn't concerned at all as he had piles of new car deliveries to do...
3.) in terms of discounts for new vehicles, good quotes etc, dealer wasn't fussed about making any serious deals. He said with the factory being shut for the three months at the start of the year combined with the Hilux being the top selling vehicle, pretty much here's the price take it or leave it.
4.) Matee_v how the hell did you get the SR5 for so cheap??

Thanks again, keep up the information it helps us all.

Hi,
Looking at picking up a new SR5 this month (fingers crossed). First hilux so super excited. Been quoted ~$49,889 for a new 2013 SR5 D/C 5spd Auto, rubber matts and Tub liner.
The dealer is going to see if he can do any lower, but is there a price I should be chasing??

Welcome mate! ;)

I'd try get him down or look around a bit more. Should be able to get a 2013 for about 45k now. For that price have a look at 2014 models.

Car sales has 2014's listed for that price.
Cheers,
Jay

Thanks jaybags,
Yeah its a 13 build but 14 model if that makes any difference. Was thinking 46-47 would be a good price.

The keywords are 13' build mate. I wouldn't be paying over $45k even with those couple of options fitted. In a couple of weeks the dealer is going to have a 6mth + old car in stock.

I was caught with one of those build one year compliance plate the next year cars. I would advise against it unless you get a really good deal on it.

Because when you go to sell it, it will always be the build year age. I.E. 2013 is already a year old now.

Nice work mate. That sounds like a good buy. Few grand spent on a tray and still sub $40k for a SR.
