Nice bit of kit. If I ever have an accident and wipe out the front guards I will look into replacing the TJM one I have.

So I would be guessing that the "hat version" would not have these drain holes in the pipework
due to the slotted drain holes already "cut" in the hat like the factory Landcruiser snorkel.
Have you got any pic's of a hat snorkel install BH ? wouldn't mine seeing how it sit's on the Lux

No man I haven't. They have all been cobra head type fitted. But that snorkel still has the drain holes in the same place because you could remove the hat and fit an after market cobra head to it. As you can do with the land cruiser.

An extra 80ks from fitting a snorkel - looks like I'm going to have to fit 2 of them
All jokes aside thanks for the detailed info on the Denso Snorkel BH, it's great to see well made product with quality fixtures and fittings !

When you list the amount of components Denso make for Toyota, the snorkel is guaranteed to be a quality OEM style product.
Just some of the things denso make for toyota
A/c compressors, evaporators and condensers
Injectors
Fuel rails
Diesel fuel pumps
Copious amounts of sensors
Filters
Computers and computer code
Now snorkels
just to name a few

Are you fair dinkum? Is this a common occurrence after fitting a snorkel?

Don't know if it is common but my explanation is my intake air temp is now cooler by 5 deg and Denso has minimal suction loss so I guess that ads up to a fuel saving. I am wrapped.

Just interested and not busting ya balls but the original cold air intake in the guard is not bad?
Are you running a bull bar as I know some are pretty poorly designed and allow very hot air from the radiator pass into the guard area?
I know with my TJM bar I not only had to make covers for under the wings of the Bar I had to make up side covers to stop hot air from the engine going into the in guard intake.

Running an ecb and I know what your saying but nth Qld is hot in summer just sitting at the light for 5 min intake temp would rise. Be it tyre or road heat. Even radiator heat.
Has made a huge difference now.

Just had mine fitted on Friday and couldn't be happier. What a quality product. No Sika flex no clamps!! Looks like it came out of the factory with it on especially when you look under the bonnet. Jury is out as far as fuel usage goes, will monitor that one. Big thanks to BH.

None at all! That is one thing I was worried about and my mate with an SR and snorkel said his is "audible". I am not going to mention other quality brands in my response. But I can say the inlet on the denso is silent. Also it has a very short shelf or inlet down the panel which eliminates possibilities of debriis sitting against panel work! As having worked in a business that supplied products for Toyota in the past, I can say they seldom supply or endorse products that haven't undergone some very stringent testing.(Injectors aside 07 hilux!!)All in all a great product that seems to have been very well thought out.

I don't hear a peep out of the safari snorkel. What did change the induction noise was the Uni Filter.

Fitted another 2 denso ram type today.
One was In for a service and he was waiting inside. I showed him his air filter and then the snorkel and he said wack it on.
Getting easier to wack them on now
50 min.
Did an air tech last Friday. 1 hr 45 min
After fitting the denso units. They have spoiled me for quality and fit.
But it sometimes comes down to price.
Buy a 50 000 dollar ute the. Skimp and accessories. O well.

Fitted this snorkel a couple of days ago, straight forward everything needed is there other than the tools. Only thing I did was paint the exposed metal with kill rust and not use the grease.
Quality item, highly recommended and the engine idles and runs smoother now too.

Anti-corrosive grease, suppose to apply it to the exposed metal.
