Hey All,

These are some pictures I was sent regarding the new Hilux model.
This is a 2WD model, though hopefully we may see these suicide doors on all models some time soon.

Cheers
Matt

5 speed auto with extra torque in the diesel would be excellent. As would the larger disc brakes and stability control!!!

We can only hope that some of these make it here.....don't hold your breath.

Finally - Xtra-cab gets the xtra doors............!!! Looking at the photos, I find it strange that the current model (05-08), has belts & seats in the rear - yet the soon to be released 'upgrade', with BETTEr access for rear passengers - does'nt have rear seats & belts.........!!!??? (Could be overseas model shown though, maybe........)

I also read in that article a claimed fuel figure of 7.4 L/100Km for the diesel....can't be correct...
They couldn't go from 9's to 7's with the same engine....surely.

Toyota UK claims its Double Cab D-4D (pictured at left) will offer class-leading power-to-weight and emissions, with its combined average CO2 output and fuel consumption also dropping slightly, to 236g/km and 8.9L/100km (down 0.5L/100km) respectively.

Thats from the link that jogal put up

No, Most of us already own Hilux's - so what they put into the next model will only go towards annoting us more; because we havn't got it in our trucks...

Like 5 speed Auto in the D4D and Vehicle stability control.

http://www.themotorreport.com.au/8187/t ... final-day/

We’re not above a little speculation here at TMR, but news that Toyota is looking at a late September release for its revised Hilux looks to be more fact than fiction.

One intrepid TMR reader has noted that Toyota’s online order tracking system includes the following tidbit: “Toyota Australia is proud to launch this new model in September 2008″.

An October launch at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney was originally expected, but it would now appear that Toyota, major sponsor of the AFL, will use the AFL Grand Final to introduce the new HiLux to its legion of fans - many of whom will no-doubt be tuned in to see Geelong beat the ‘other team’.

The ‘09 Hilux may only be a revised model, rather than an all new rig, but the list of changes is still quite substantial. Expect a new grill, a redesigned front-bumper and new 15-inch and 17-inch wheels to freshen up the exterior. The interior receives steering wheel mounted controls for stereo and trip computer functions plus a new climate control system.

Mechanically, the new ‘Lux will see revised suspension and larger brakes, 297mm discs on the front and 295mm drums on the rear of all 4WD models while 319mm discs will feature on models equipped with stability-control. Gone is the four-speed auto, in favour of a better performing five-speed, while power and torque from the 3-litre diesel are bumped to 128kWs and 360Nms respectively.

We’ll have to wait and see just how accurate our assumption has been but what’s the automotive industry without a bit of rampant speculation? Feel free to drop us a line anytime you’ve got some newsworthy information, that you’d like to see posted on TMR.

Just a bit of info I found :)

The diesel will be getting a touch more power and a new gearbox!
