My lux arrived at the dealer yesterday. Ordered late Dec 2011.

Waiting for my salary sacrificing company to get finance approved... Originally thought those things weren't worth doing until I figured out how to compare the numbers.

The Sahara front bar for the 2012 SR5 aren't scheduled to be available until late May according to ARB so I'm going to have to bring the car back to ARB myself. :(

i cant believe how much people are asking for the old shape on carsales.
I assume its because of the long delays in getting a new one but asking over $50k for an 09, 10 is dreaming, esp in a manual.

i ended up buying a new one, apparently a few months wait.
It was from a family friend that owns the dealership so i assume he would have told me that a different one was coming

Info from several dealers contacted all seem to say same thing about new models coming. Complete new hilux from the ground up was coming at the end of 2013 but because of Thailand floods has been pushed back till at least the end of 2014 & possibly not till first quarter of 2015. Definately no more face lift models till complete rebuild of new shape.

I agree Nick, the second hand price for 09-10 build is crazy. Thats Toyota for you, maybe when the supply of new cars cathes up things will come down a bit.

Based on no evidence whatsoever, I'd say Toyota will bring out something to smash the v6 navara diesel (170kw & 550nm). Hopefully something along the lines of the tdv6 of the discovery at 188kw & 600nm torque.

I hope they go quicker. Kind of waiting for the new model.... 2015 is a long time to wait though. Bummer. :(

But I reckon it will be well worth the very long wait!!!

Yep 2015 is a long way off & if you think about it even a big IF it does come first quarter of 2015 it will be another six months before the after market boys, ARB & TJM, R & D people get all tooled up & can make all the new goodies in sufficent quantities we need to meet our requirements.I am not waiting any longer, have ordered a new truck expect to take delivery early june by the time the new one arrives (in 2015 or whenever) I will probably be ready by then to trade up again & buy my 10th Hilux.(JUST LOVE EM)

Exactly the reason I've updated know, even 6 months is too long to wait.
5 years from now should see us well into the next generation lux perfect time to upgrade again.
This will be my 3rd lux and not the last love em too :D
Cheers Matt

Yeah, been thinking about it a fair bit this week and thinking might best to go see my local toyota seller today. Get one now and be ready to trade up when the new model comes out! To long to wait!

Hi Guys,

Just been told my Hilux SR dual cab wont be delivered until August at the earliest after i ordered it at the start of March.
This is even after Toyota released this on the 4th of April
http://news.toyota.com.au/hilux-stock-a ... -to-normal

Is anyone else having similar problems?
Getting very impatient!!

Cheers

Wayne, ordered mine 16th Jan and it's still not scheduled for production (told it was to arrive end April).
Asked dealer what was around and coming into country.
Found there was one on the wharf but going to dealer in Melboune - called dealer direct and bought it
- will be cancelling the order with dealer in Cairns.
Just have to freight truck back up the coast

theres a boat load due for melbourne in the next few days and the dealer reckons he will have mine on the 18-20th. Dont know how long it takes for the dealer to do the tarp, tow bar and detail though.

After reading above posts this might sound strange. I placed an order for new D/cab SR5 T/D manual on the 8th of may the dealer located a vehicle that was on the water as we spoke, not sure but may be it was going to another dealer but not sold I think the dealer may have done a swap to get my color (RED).I got straight onto Track my Toyota logged in details, Vin number & engine number clearly shown build date was April & compliance plate May & true there it was on the boat two days later it was telling me it was in transport company's storage yard where it stayed for another 12 days( may be waiting for the paint to dry) finally landing at the dealer & I drove it out the showroom doors on 29th may.Very happy with it more like an expensive sedan to drive than a truck. That stereo head unit looks & works good, the instruction book just for the stereo is almost 3/4 inch thick takes a bit to get an old head around but a couple of reads & it mostly starts to get clearer. Will probably take me a while to upgrade my shed. :D :D :D

I went in last week looking at second hand SR5, 2010 with 80k on clock. Found out for 8k more id get a brand spanker. Mine will be available July 3rd, so 3 weeks from enquiry. Im lucky that what i wanted was already on its way :) hoping i don't regret the black colour choice. Just gotta move on this pathfinder so i don't have to trade it, this way i have more $$ for mods
