Personally not bothered. That's not sr5 though cause it's got normal ac controls too.

I actually thought the 2.8 looks pretty good on paper.... 450nm sounds good to me

I really hope it doesn't have push button start! If they made a current model hilux with more power and the one or two common faults were rectified it would be the best ute ever! It is still the best looking ute on the market.

Thanks mate,

Plenty of torque improvement, I guess we just really wont know until someone drives it. The waiting game.

well if it helps to get a comparison, I just bought a 2014 ford ranger manual 3.2litre. It has 147kws and 470nm of torque and coming from my hilux the difference is massive!! Hills that I would need to change down a gear to get up simply cruises up and actual accelerates

Reading the spec sheet thats on carsguide I think I can interpret

2.8TD Maunal 177kw and 420Nm in rev range 1400-2600
2.8TD Auto 177kw/ and 450Nm in rev range 1600-2400
Also
LED day time running lights
70 ltr fuel tank
and I think HID headlights
But this could be asia spec
I love hybrid cars - means more fuel for me

Sure hope the 2.8td is not just a re-badged Colorado powerplant!! I do smell a rat... see the toyota/Subaru powerplant in the sporty '86. Why oh why not a v6 diesel like the jeep 3.0... with Toyota's reliability thrown in. The jeep (yuck) powerplant is a good one and if Toyota were to adopt this technology and add their reliability I would consider a trade-up.
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.

hylux, I think you are getting 177PS and kws mixed up. As seen in the link below they state

"A 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel delivering 150PS (148hp) and 167PS (165hp), a 2.8-liter turbodiesel with 177PS (175hp) and a 2.7-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline four-pot producing 166PS (164hp)."

http://www.carscoops.com/2015/04/2016-t ... specs.html

in one of the pictures down the bottom it appears to state the kws and nm in both manual and auto configuration

Dunno, gonna put it out there that I'm bot sold on the puffy wheel arch panels, the door panels look like very little change to the current model then just ridiculous puffy front and rear arches, similar to the new Nissan but even bigger.
