Yep but don't bother with the electronic rust proofing it's all snake oil.

After a fairly short, one way, closed door discussion with my dealer - my revised price is:
MY12 SR5 dual cab V6 auto white:
rev camera
bonnet protector and weather shields
mats
$51,500 DA
would have chucked in a tub liner for 300 more but the ARB ones are a better product.

New 2012 Hilux Quotes

Postby MarkYounger on Wed, 08 Feb 2012 8:08 +0000

Not an official quote but when pricing a Fortuner here I asked about it compared to the price of a new Hilux. Sales lady quoted me around $36,000 (US) for hilux and $60,000 for Fortuner. I know Prados here run around $75,000. Now this might be after taxes and we have a huge luxury tax. However with the value of the Aussie dollar beating US right now seems you guys are paying a high price. That being said if a lux was $50,000 here there would be a lot less people buying them for sure.

No doubt about that Mark. We are ripped off in Australia. One of the most expensive countries in the world and it's getting worse. I just returned from touring seven different countries in Europe from the UK down to Italy. Also toured south East Asia. Car's are so much cheaper around the world than they are here in Australia. It's outrageous.

I don't think it is just anti Ford, it is a dedicated Hilux forum so you have got to expect a bit of tongue in cheek swipes at all other brands.

On the internet you can be anything you want. It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid!

My comment was intended to be taken with a grain of salt mate but remember your 'local' Ford was co-engineered with Mazda and is also built in Thailand so I'm not sure what point you were trying to make :D I just sold my 2010 ford xr6t ute and whilst the engine was awesome the build quality and ford customer service were shite.
