roof basket or tray attached directly to canopy roof rails

Im looking at buying a rhino or prorack medium sized roof basket and attaching it to the canopy roof.
The factory rails on the canopy are very short in length.

Has anyone attached there basket directly to the factory rails or have you put roof racks on the rails then the basket on top ?
