50mm spacers for my 06 lux

Postby lufa18 on Thu, 15 Nov 2012 7:34 +0000

i recently bought 50mm spacers for my 06 hilux after having a few people tell me they'd be easier then buying new rims
and i didn't realise they were illegal, pretty sure i'd get away with it cause i don't drive her round that often
im just worried bout what damage they can do and if theres anyway to prevent it?

mate just go get new rims. spacers are not very safe, are alot weaker compared to just having a rim bolted to the axle and as you already know are illegal. just my opinion

I'm not 100% where I heard it, but I remember reading that they put more strain on your wheel hub and axle as the forces are applied further out... probably makes no sense, lol
