Mmaxx, I went for a similar box to what you are getting quoted. Had it made from 3 mm so I can stand on the lid. Kept the overall height flush with the top of the tub liner, cut out over arches and sitting on the floor. Lets me use the tonneau. works well. In one of the photos in my profile it is possible to just see the line of the checker plate lid. The lid has not sagged, does not let water or dust in. Seen plenty of outback and beach work. I think it was around $650 made by a fabricator at tuggerah to my dimensions.

MMaxx,

I used a space case in the back of my Navara untill I built drawers in there. It sits neatly between the arches and is water/dustproof. I found the space on top of the arches either side is good for packing camp chairs etc so the space is used well.

A silly question perhaps...

How do you secure the box (say ironman) to the tray to stop it from being stolen etc...

Thanks

This would be ideal if we could afford the freight :(

Angus, from memory, the ironman box comes with a mounting bracket that you secure to the front of your tub and then screw into through the toolbox.

X 2. This 1150 x 550 x 450 high Spacecase fits nice and snug between the wheel arches and the tonneau cover still fits. It's water and dust proof. Can be locked with padlocks to keep the honest people out and has handles on the side for easy removal. This setup suits me.

Here is my set up..
One of a kind custom made alloy gullwing toolbox.
Fits perfectly into tray and wraps around wheel arches so no space is wasted, on top of the wheel arch sections is a small ledge/shelf, the rest of the box is completlly open and accesable from both sides via the large dual gas strut doors. Doors have very heavy duty lockable stainless steel T-handles. All rolled edges and welded joints, powder coated gloss black. All totally waterproof and strong as an ox when bolted down.
I will be selling this in the next 3-4 months as I'm building a steel flat tray for the lux and this won't really suit that...

I know this is an old topic, but just in case people were looking, bunnings sells space cases as special order according to their website. They fall under pelican but have the same product id as ARB.

Hey Miccos,

My local Bunnings in Balcatta has a range in-store. Awesome product, we use one to store all our camping gear.

Thanks wedmondson,
I'll need to get down to my local and see if there are any to play with..

Anyone know what size fits between the wheel arches of a SR5 2014 DC with Toyota tub liner?? further back 1100x550x450 was mentioned further back in the thread, though I did a measure and got around 1040-50mm.

Cheers

The beauty of Bunnings is you can take it back and get refund without too much hassle if it's stocked on the shelves.
