All good mate no worries.

I have a set of sliders now that were custom made, but I wasn't 100% happy with them.

So chasing a few ideas to show the guy before I get another set made.

Hi All.

Ive tried to do a search, I cant seem to find the exact information I am after. (I might not have been searching the right combination) sorry boys.
I want to make up a set of rock sliders.
I want to check my measurements with what others have found over their time in making the sliders up.
I wanted to check the length of the main rails.
the length of the internal short pipes
and last nu not least the length of the mounting pipes.
I think I can work out the radius of the outer bar but if some one had that it would be great as well.

sorry if I have double posted but I can seem to find what im looking for.

thanks in advance.
cheers

I want to get a set of rock sliders and double row brush bars (like the tuff bar ones) made up and colour coded for my 08 dual cab, just got a quote of one bloke for $1,700 for the bar work and another $500 for painting, making it $2,200, was shocked at this price. Does that sound excessive to anyone else or about right for what I wanted? For that price I may as well just get the standard arb ones and have them colour coded

Has anyone managed to get any photos of the mounting bracket near the fuel tank?

$2,200 seems pretty pricey Dewbs, i'd shop around.

Got my sliders from Dominator 4x4, top service and really good quality. And they're a bit cheaper than their competitors. Highly recommended. Even had mine arrive quicker than their estimated lead in time. (Received them within 4 weeks).

Fitted up pretty easy too. 2NV - the brackets I had were all the same (check my build for the unwrapping of the sliders), they're all ubolt, and just slid straight over the chassis just missing the fuel tank. Was a bit of a bitch getting the spanner up in there though.

I had to shop around for my sliders and steps with single brush bar. $2200 is the standard price for most fab places but I saved a good deal by asking around and being patient. My problem was either I had to buy steps and put sliders in them or have them made. After I did my homework turned out cheaper just to get them custom made.

Cheers

Ultra

Edit to add: ARB sidesteps don't have a slider bar in them they are just a sidestep.

Ah I see where you're going with the shape mate, nice touch ;) . Just make sure you leave at least 20 mm clearance all-round to account for cab movement. It looks tight, or it could just be the angle of the shot. More pics?

This isn't welded on yet but its probly a touch under 20mm so I might lower it just to give it a bit more breathing room. Bit of f$@#&% around to cut the shape but hopefully the finished result will be worth it. After the actual slider bit is done ill be folding up a step to add on the outside too. Im going for a look similar to the Superiour Engineering Stealth ones but with a slightly bigger step area as the mrs cant get in!

The raw slider

Added in some extra braces

Filled in the tapered ends

So Below is the profile of the step that I will get folded up for the outside

Any of you blokes with the sliders that don't have any tread plate on top notice any stone chips on the lower ends of the panels? I have a fair few between the gap of the sill and standard step. Just about to order some sliders and tossing up between tread or no tread?
