decided to make mine clamp to the chasis either side. Also thought i might at some scrub bars but they turned out to be a pain in the rearso cut them off and brought the bar back round now. Used 2 45 degree 38mm nominal boar pre bent angles and welded to gether in an S shape worked perfect high to under sill. Can use high lift on these no troubles

Just had to trim the plastic protection plate for the tank and I could only fit 1 clamp bolt without dropping the tank. I figure that one should do the job ;)
I had more trouble bending the brake line away from the chassis and spacing out the handbrake cable mount..... That took about 10min to do :P

How's it going fellas? Wondering if someone could give me some measurements and designs for sliders? Interested in making some up but don't have my car at the moment to measure for myself

Is there anyone in the Newcastle/Central Coast area that makes them out of there own backyard? I am not to keen on getting taken for a ride by the main stream suppliers???

By the time you buy the steel and pay someone to bend/weld it up your only gonna save a couple hundred if that..
You'd probably pay a metal fabricator $700 - $1000 to custom build some or i think Buds are $800... pretty hard to beat that..

Hi mates,
this is mine:

They are from Rasta, mounted to the frame with brackets and are able to lift the rig.
There is no for drilling, so they can be removed without any trace.

Custom made mine myself :) took ages doing it, little bit at a time after work but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. When I went to the paint store the bloke there put me onto some new stuff: gloss black gal. Just like gal anti rust primer but with no need for a top coat!
Thanks to everyone for you tips and ideas 8-)

Ive been meaning to make some sliders up for a while,so i pulled my finger out today and knocked these up.
Im making them so the front section is removable to fit up brush bars when going in the rough stuff.
I made them abit wider, 185mm actually so the kids can climb in reasonably easy,I plan on fitting some alloy tread plate to fill them in,and i can safely access the gear on the roof rack as well, they sit about flush with the tyres and will double as a high lift points,il just screw a couple bolts in the rails to stop the high lift sliding off when lifting.

Just got to fit the passenger one tomorrow,(kids are back to school hooray) i can get twice as much work done hopefully.
got some gussets to fit, then fully weld them up,tidy the welds
and paint,Id like to finish and fit them up tomorrow,(hopefully) ,Ill post pics when they are done

Depends on how neat you want them to look..the cheap 8,12,30t tube benders will squash the pipe and leave dents where you push against, unless you pack the tube with sand or water,I got a guy I know that has a mandral bender to do my bends I supplied him the steel then I cut the bends up to suit what i needed and welded them in.Im building a mandral bender for my brush bars next
Go and see a local fabrication shop in your area ,most good workshops have a mandrel bender for handrail, pipe work etc.

they will charge you about $30-50 to bend what you need if at all, remember The bigger the bend the more angles you can cut out of it to do other project down the track.
