If you want to use the basic bender and prevent the dints, just grab some tube large enough to slide over what ever your working on, make it a very loose fit and only an inch or so long so it slides back off after doing the bend. Sit these where the the two dints usually occur. Prevents the dints, works every time for me on those jobs when I want a neater finish :)

A mate of mine made them for me. He's very good with a welder but he is also a farmer and is always busy with work and other projects. Sorry mate ;)

Looks neat :)

Is it illegal to modify your chassis by welding it or drilling into it?

I think Dan is asking would it affect the legality of the vehicle being on the road.

Prescott thats an awesome way to mount them, so you've welded a plate to the chassis with threaded holes in it then bolted the slider to them?! Brilliant

Yep, same with having to get council approval to put something as small as a garden shed up on your property... That you're paying, or have payed for...

I haven't drilled any holes into the chassis there just plates that are drilled and tapped then welded onto the chassis. As far as I'm aware it's legal this way your just not allowed to weld the sliders directly to the chassis.
