2WD Recovery Points

Postby makeamends00 on Mon, 02 Nov 2020 1:12 +0000

Wouldnt mind some installing some recovery points leading up to summer getaways down here in TAS
Is it possible to fit something like below to my 2011 SR 2WD Toyota Hilux 3.0D

https://www.ocamindustries.com.au/roadsafe-hd-tow-points-for-toyota-hilux-2005-15-pair?gclid=Cj0KCQjwufn8BRCwARIsAKzP6947jEV4Pp8x58BRbvbAhrzU4IddJqm9ks1aIJETlHM4bxIQrWRm7rkaAhQCEALw_wcB

Any additional advice, feedback or recommendations would be much appreciated

Cheers

From memory, the 2wd chassis is different up front. They might fit but a quick google didnt reveal much for the 2wd. You may have to drill some holes??
I might be wrong.

I've got an ARB REAR STEP TOW BAR

Can anyone confirm the use of the integrated towing eyes, can these be used as recovery points?

If you have a rear tow bar you can get a recover point hitch; they sell them ARB and all other 4wd places.

Apologies if you have already considered this, but the other option is to look at alternative recovery options like recovery boards, i.e. Maxtrax, Treds, etc. Recovery boards are generally a safer option than snatching and provide a range of options in a recovery rather than using straps which generally can only be used to go straight forward or straight backwards.
