Has anyone gone to the trouble of making the holes in the fenders to suit the SR5 flares?

SR fenders don't have the square holes for the SR5 flares and you need to either glue them on or drill and make square holes to suit the clips.

Interested to know to what extent you guys have gone, and if anyone has made the square holes how'd you go about it.....

A template of the holes off a SR5 would be ideal

Honestly, that sounds like a lot of work when you can just get flares from places like Utemart or similar that look just like factory flares, mounting with screws on the bottom and a bead of sealant (or strip of rubber) along the top edge.

The factory ones aren’t that secure, I popped mine 1/2 off more than once

These are factory like copies. They use factory screws and clip in (top of flares) into square holes in the SR5 guards.
Attaching using some sort of goo or double sided tape ain't my idea of doing the job properly.

Just wondered if anyone bothered to do the job properly or just hori...

I've honestly never heard of anyone doing that.
Pretty sure the only way to get a template for the holes would be to get an SR5 panel from the wreckers and measure off that. It would be cheaper than sourcing the flares themselves, they are ridiculously expensive from Toyota, and highly sought after from wreckers to replace damaged ones.

I work for a dealership so guard supply isn't a problem there.
But I don't need guards....

I can possibly measure up a genuine guard, if we get a panel job through, once this covid shit is over, but while I'm stuck at home I thought I'd have a go at seeing if anyone had bothered to fit flares properly and how they went about it.
