mounting XROX bar on 14 hilux to sit flush with headlights?

Postby n.yates on Sat, 18 Apr 2020 7:49 +0000

Hi there, I recently purchased an XROX bar for my 2014 hilux, and noticed that the bar sits about 45-50mm below the headlights, unlike the pre facelift models, where they sit flush. I was wondering if buying a pair of brackets for 05 to 11 hilux would fix this problem and put the bullbar flush with the headlights? if needed, happy to trim the grill as much as required to suit. Cheers guys!

Different designs and vehicle shapes.
If your bars aren't fitting properly it may just need some minor tweaking with the mounts to fit better.

I have had to spend more time tweaking some to align nicely, than it took to fit the bars to the vehicles.
1 was so bad I had to die grind the mounts.
Lots of swearing and cursing and banged knuckles....

Don't hold me to it, but I'm 90% sure the only difference between pre and post facelift is how far the grille extends above and below the lights, from what I can tell, a pre-facelift bar would fit, though you would have to cut the bottom off your grille, flush with the headlights.

The post-facelift model is supposed to have the top part of your factory plastic bumper cut to make up for the lower grille and fill the gap.
