High Mount Winch Bar

Postby lux0909 on Mon, 04 Feb 2019 7:19 +0000

Hi All,
Have been googling and searching the forum for a few weeks now, and haven't found the info I'm looking for so hoping you can help.
I have a Warn M8274 High Mount winch of my last Patrol and have just bought my first Hilux (2009 SR Dual Cab KUN26r ) and am looking to see if there is a Bullbar that will allow me to mount the High Mount on the Lux without going to an XROX style tube bar.

Hoping to find an ARB style bar that will fit, but not liking my chances.

Anyone have any experience with High Mount Winches on Hiluxes?

Thanks in Advance

I’ve got a high mount in my Arb bar, had to trim the top of the bar (flat plate) and grill a little. Been there a few years now and works well.

Mitch, thanks for replying.
just read through your entire build with all its ups and downs hoping there was a pic, but doesn't look like it. Hell of a ride you and the 2 lux's have been on.

If I can ask was it a trim of the top plate or cutting most of the top plate in the centre out?

I haven’t read or updated my build for a few years now

I can’t remember exactly how much or where I cut it out, i’ll have to take another look

I highly recommend your build as a great read, ups, downs romance, heartbreak, it has it all.

seriously thanks though for replying, a bit more confident to drop some money on a bar now, thought I was going to be stuck with a tube bar

Thanks mate! Maybe I should give it all a read myself!

was willing to mess with my bar as it only cost me $240. I remember it was way easier to fit in than I thought.

Let us know how you get on. 8-)

Cheers, I'm thinking about heading down the second bar path as well so may be a while until the right bar pops up.
