Tray for 2005 dual cab advice

I am looking to ditch my tub and hard top in favour for an alloy tray and canopy that I can setup for touring and camping.
Can I fit the current gen 2015+ tray? Or is it another situation where Toyota has moved mounts a touch just to screw us?

If anyone knows of better (and preferably cheaper) tray options please feel free to let me know. I am hoping to get a tray for sub $1000 and happy to go secondhand.

If you are slightly handy with tools buy a single cab tray, they are cheap. Most are very easy to shorten to the desired length by removing the rear piece, removing a few bolts or rivets, sliding some of the floor panels out. Then cutting the support sections and side sections to the desired length (using original setup to know where to cut relative to the last board), and putting the back piece back on with a few holes drilled. The sides will need cutting down, few holes and the rear hinge holes redrilled in the side rails.
Just relocate the mudguards, they normally just unbolt.
If you buy one off a 2005-2015 Hilux you should be able to get all the mounting gear plus the lights which should plug into you car’s harness.

Interesting. I might keep an eye out for one.

Have a look closely at one and you will see how obvious and easy it is.
