Hi all

Looking at getting a roof basket and rails to fit a dual cab my 07 SR

found a few on ebay that look really similar to the ARB rack

Has anyone installed on of these and if so thoughts?

Hey mate I know its a few extra $$ but have you considered an aluminium one?
They are less than half the weight of the steel. The one I have is a full length one which is still lighter than the half one you asked about.
Also I would look for one thats not as wide mines 1250mm wide and still looks abit out of place from the front, so I'd look for something 1250 or less.

This is the information I was after, I didn't read the Steel part of the listing ops. I thought it was the same as the ones you listed just cheaper price.

Ill defiantly go on of the alloy ones, thanks. The second one was my other choice its about $100 more but well worth for the weight savings.

ill see if I can find something a bit smaller they all seem to be 1250 though...

Yeah Definitely go the ally! My mate has a steel one and it literally takes two people to lift on.

Yeah I had a quick look too and couldn't find anything either.
1250 does suit the car, like it follows the cab width I think mine just looks abit strange caus mine mounts on the ladder racks and just hangs over the roof so it doesn't have the leg mounts to fill in the gap

ah that makes sense previous car was a 80 series and we had pro rack HD bars and large basket on top, always looked a bit strange to me big gap and overhang but it was fine.

Thanks for the info, Ill prob order the alloy one next week.

Hey Lerroy could you please post some pics once you get the basket on and let us know how you went with the installation, if it was easy/hard to install. And your thoughts on the basket would be great as I'm insterestes in buying the same one.

I ordered on Friday last week, but I'm away a few weeks as well, I'll get some pics up of the item when it arrives and install when I get a chance.

I even spoke to the guy and he confirmed stock, just rang said didn't have alloy one only steel. He couldn't give me any ETA for alloy one so I had to cancel order. Now I gotta wait 5 days for the refund process.

Ill re-order next week from another seller.
