im looking to secure a tradie steel box with chain to the back of an SR5 with a liner similar to



the idea would be that it wouldn't be a permanent fixture to the car so i can take it out when ever i put camping or other gear in there and i came across the arb tie down kit but it looks like anyone with 5 minutes can unscrew and walk away with the box



has anyone got any ideas how i could get some more permanent anchor/tie down points, i dont mind drilling the tub liner but i dont want to drill the actual tub itself

i need something more tamper proof then something that is secured is there enough room between the liner and tub to have the nut between the two?

I have a dropside tray, my toolbox is just secured with 4 bolts through the bottom of the box and the timber tray bed. Takes 2 minutes to remove and you need to get inside the box so it's secure.
Possibly if you put bolt head and washer between tray and liner and drop the box onto the bolt so you screw nut on inside the box.
I would just bang 4 tech screws through the floor but I'm a little bit rough

Those tie down points are good, but they're more to stop your load moving than securing it from theft.

What about 4 rivnuts through the bottom and some big stainless steel fender washers

That sounds like a great idea having the nuts inside the box. Would the plastic liner withstand some over tightening of the nuts or have you guys used washers?

Why didn't I think about that.

It should be fine
